To find the original Telegram post from a message link, open the link with an account that is authorised to access the source, record the resolved chat and message, then compare the live content with the claim you received. Record the exact URL you opened and the time of review. Usernames can change, content can be edited, and media captions can carry different claims from the image itself. “Resolved successfully on 23 August 2026” is a reproducible observation; “this has always been the original post” is usually not.
Private references: access comes before interpretation
Telegram also uses message links for private chats and groups. These references do not turn a private source into a public page. They resolve only when the reviewing account has the required access. The link format can identify a destination within Telegram, but it cannot grant membership or disclose content to an unauthorised reviewer.
If a private reference does not open, choose an accurate status:

Stop at source recovery
The coordinator’s output is a source result, not an opportunity verdict. A valid post can still be hearsay, a repost, a joke or an unauthorised request. An invalid link can still accompany a genuine screenshot. Those are different questions requiring different evidence.
